Sling, Dish Network, T-Mobile launch TV service channels
Sling and Dish are launching a new TV service channel.
The new channels, named channel 8 and channel 8.9, will bring live sports, live music, original programming and other content to the new service.
Channel 8 is for “sport and sports channels, including college sports, college basketball, college football and NFL games, as well as sports programming from the sports networks, including ESPN and ESPN2,” according to a press release.
Channel 8.5 is for shows and programs from “newscasts, documentaries, comedy shows and other programming,” the release said.
The service will also be available on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Xbox, Google TV, Chromecast, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and more devices.
Sling announced its Sling TV service in September, and the company is rolling out its new channels on the Web and in apps across its service on Friday.
The company said it is also adding a new channel, called SlingSports, to its service.
